This post will be updated regularly..

Every single $$ counts, and that IS the point of the Donor project =P

  1. I was going to make a move, but damn it, the next chapter is the most expensive one :D

Sayt, Lhytiss, is it possible for me to pay for the chapter 4 (21.60$) instead of the chapter 3 (55.20$) ? ^^

PS : just in case, since your donators blog still requires some kind of identification before leaving a comment, I make the precision, this is Oliver, from hentairules.net
    I must have a dozen google accounts, I create a new one with a new email every time I don't remember my login for one or another google service, so I have no idea under what name I'll appear here, posting as a google account user ^^;;

  4. omg. Found this work on hentairules.net.

I've been waiting FOREVER for someone to translate this. I was like "wtf?!" when this was getting passed up and people were translating all the newer stuff.

I'll throw in some money on the 2nd of Jan.

  5. Oliver, I don't think you have to fund a whole chapter at a time. If you wanted to just throw $20.00 at chapter 3, that would still help.

I am not sure why, but people seem to always think for donor projects that if they can't afford a whole chapter, then there is no point in donating at all. I don't get it. *shrug*

  6. I think, Zathael, this gives the donator the impression this chapter becomes, in a very relative way, his property.

You're a frequent donator, I'm certain you take pride in donating, and these commissions they become "your" commissions, don't they ?

I suppose that will be why people will be reluctant to funding half a chapter and will prefer to fund a full chapter - if they can afford it - instead.

Just my guess, at least :)
And 21.60$ were already on their way at the time I've been sending that comment ^^

  7. @Oliver
Thank you for the purchase.. =p

And I have some good news and some bad news..
    The good news :
As I'm writing this, the chpt 2 is currently in uploading process.. ^^

    The bad news :
It HAS failed once, and now it's going steady at 0.5 Kb/s..-_-a
Not a good sign I'd say...

    I hope I can finish this &*@#^&*^ before 2010.. >,<

  8. @Oliver, I can understand the idea of "owning" a chapter. But that idea also scares away some people who could otherwise be encouraged to donate. I have read on some blogs where someone would comment something like "I would like to help, but I can't afford an entire chapter", as if they think that they *have* to fund an entire chapter at once. As much as I like the idea of "owning" a chapter, I also like the idea of seeing Lhytiss getting 100 people who all donate a dollar, which ends up fully funding the rest of the manga.

You've seen stuff translated by tadanohito before, his credits pages sometimes have 30 or 40 names on them! I would *love* to see a project where I pay for one chapter, and 40+ people pay for the rest of the manga. I think it would give them all a sense of accomplishment, that they would all think to themselves "Hey, *I* helped get this done."

  9. @ Oliver and Zathael:

Oliver! You're kidding me right? People donate a few bucks at a time on tadanohito.net. All of their projects are funded that way. Rarely does any one person support a whole chapter unless they did well in the stock market that day.

If more translators followed Tadanohito.net's example, there would be much much more paid/donated translations going on.

  10. Well, it's just the way I saw things.

Maybe, Lhytiss, you could write it in big letters for the persons like me : that it's possible to give smaller sums ?

  11. @Oliver:

Hey Oliver, going back and re-reading what I posted earlier, I realize that I probably sounded like an ungrateful ass. My apologies. Instead of bringing up the whole chapter vs buck-at-a-time debate, I should have simply been thankful that you had donated towards the project at all. Again, sorry for sounding ungrateful, and thank you fo your donation.
